NAOMI FOSS CRM5 MAR - CLINICAL REFLEXOLOGIST IN WARWICK

Reflexology at Falcon Barn

Clinical Reflexology set in the tranquil countryside outside Warwick.

Welcome to Falcon Barn!

My name is Naomi Foss and I am a Clinical Reflexologist based at home in the peaceful countryside village of Haseley, three miles from Warwick, CV35 7HA. I trained at the Contemporary College of Reflexology, graduating with a Level 5 Diploma (the highest qualification in the UK in Practitioner Reflexology). I am a member of both the Association of Reflexologists and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

With a background in education, I've seen and lived the stresses and pressures that both adults and children experience. Not just day-to-day life and struggling to balance work and life, but some of the bigger life-changing events too.

I resolved to find ways to improve my own well-being and also help and support those around me - seeking to rebalance physical and emotional health for everyone. As an educator, I use a structured and systematic method and develop holistic approaches to support the needs of my pupils. I have combined this with my clinical studies in reflexology to develop an approach to treatment and care which is unique to every client's needs.

What is Reflexology?

The holistic approach...

Reflexology is a complementary alternative therapy, working alongside conventional medicine. It follows the principle that the body’s systems, organs and glands are mapped out on the feet, hands and ears. By applying various levels of pressure to these reflex points, signals are sent to the brain, which in turn sends a message to encourage the body to rebalance and selfheal.

Through professional consultation with you, non-invasive Reflexology provides personal, tailored treatments. By treating you holistically, not just by symptom or condition, it promotes relaxation, improves overall well-being and stimulates circulation and energy flow, removing blockages.

After the initial health and lifestyle consultation, a full investigatory treatment will be carried out. This will identify areas within the body and mind that might be out of balance and provide a better understanding of your health and well-being. Subsequent treatments will build on this and follow a tailored plan aimed to treat your specific needs.

Balance

Reflexology can help you to feel healthier, finding balance and equilibrium in both mind and body as it heals naturally. It helps with general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles, giving us a space to reflect on both mind and body.

Reflexology is deeply relaxing and most clients say they feel ‘lighter’ after a treatment, feel very relaxed, sleep better and, during the following days, more energised. Reflexology is suitable for people of all ages.

Please contact me to discuss your needs or if you have any questions.

Treatments - what to expect

Although the feet are most commonly worked, treatments might also be carried out on the hands or ears. The reflexes correspond to internal organs and glands and these are stimulated by applying gentle pressure using my hands, fingers and thumbs. Some elements of Chinese medicine can be incorporated into treatments where meridian pressure points are identified to support the natural healing process.

Every tailored treatment ends with a relaxing foot and leg massage using soothing organic products. People respond to reflexology in many different ways, therefore at the end of your treatment I will discuss with you what you could expect and advise you on post treatment care.

Below are a few of the issues that Reflexology can help with:

What is Acupressure Facial Therapy?

Qi - The flow of vital energy...

The skin, muscles and fascia of the face have a unique structure to allow us to express ourselves intellectually and emotionally. We therefore hold a huge amount of tension and stress in our facial structure.

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing method that involves applying pressure to certain meridian and vessel points. These meridians relate to different organ systems. The flow of vital energy is essential to our health and fundamental to the practice of acupressure. The Chinese call this Qi.

Qi supplies our organs, blood and other body fluids as well as the mind. When your body is in good balance, your Qi flows abundantly and smoothly. Acupressure can unblock congested Qi, strengthen weak Qi and calm overactive Qi resulting in a feeling of better balance to the mind and body.

Benefits

  • To release tension: we use our facial muscles more than any other muscle in our body.
  • To increase blood supply to the face which aids lymphatic drainage.
  • To encourage the natural shedding of skin cells and to stimulate the production of collagen.
  • To stimulate the acupressure points and reflexes that benefit the whole body and mind.
  • This treatment can be particularly beneficial in supporting sleep disorders as it deeply calms the central nervous system.

Please contact me to discuss your needs or if you have any questions.

Treatments - what to expect

After a short consultation, your deeply relaxing treatment starts with a shoulder, neck and head stretch and massage. This is followed by a facial cleanse using an unscented base organic cleanser. Jojoba oil is then used to apply gentle pressure, massage and to connect the acupressure points on the face and head. Each treatment ends with the grounding of the client using the kidney acupressure points on the feet.

NB: Jojoba oil is a protective oil that moisturises all skin types including sensitive skin. It is a liquid wax extracted from the nut of an indigenous American shrub. If you have a favourite cleanser and face oil that you normally use, please feel free to bring them along for me to use instead.

Some frequently asked questions...

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology and Acupressure can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-6 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of treatments I think we should undertake.

Can you diagnose health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your well-being; if a particular reflex or acupressure point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session. I can give you after care advice and signpost you to other complementary therapists, the GP or guide you on lifestyle choices such as nutrition, exercise and well-being.
